EBM+ ^SM© is a web-based application service that enables the user to access a database specifically designed to service the needs of decision-making in the utilization management industry. Core data was collected from a current database from a utilization management corporation. Additional reference material was then added from diverse sources to provide a comprehensive and growing database of utilization management focused materials. The dynamic database is continually adapting itself to the changes in UM topics as they arise. Web links to original sources of literature facilitates the user's ability to access many diverse reference sites quickly and efficiently from within one database.

Evidence Based Medicine is the current best practice approach to healthcare and has been defined as “the conscientious, explicit and judicious use of current best evidence in making decisions about the care of the individual patient. It means integrating individual clinical expertise with the best available external clinical evidence from systematic research.” (Sackett D, 1996) EBM+ ^SM© makes access to this level of reference material quick and easy in many ways.
